Enhanced Surveillance Mandate
- Dave Pleskac
Enhanced Surveillance (EHS) is now mandatory for all IFR flights within the airspace of Germany and Great Britain, and will be mandatory in France March 31, 2006.
However, EUROCONTROL has established a transition period until March 31, 2007. Operators who do not currently have Enhanced Mode S Surveillance must apply for an exemption.
For more information about this installation, please contact Ron Hall at 800.228.4277.
Corrosion Protection Control Program: Part II
- Scott Shefke
The CPCP (Corrosion Protection Control Program) consists of visual inspections and the application of additional corrosion preventative compounds. As reported in the Spring edition of the Challenger Duncan Intelligence, the CPCP program is mandatory for Canadian-registered aircraft, but US-registered aircraft do not have the requirement if they are NOT a scheduled 135 operator.
If you are a 600 or 601 operator, required to participate in a CPCP, a program can be purchased or you can create one and and have it certified. 604 operators have this program included in their regular maintenance tasks.
Be aware that we have seen 604s that do not have compounds applied as stated in the tasks. This becomes a maintenance item that must be accomplished and it is not typically included in the normal inspection flat rate charge. It is included in the MSG3 analysis and is part of the certified maintenance program.
If you have any maintenance questions regarding your Challenger aircraft, please contact Scott Shefke at 800.228.4277.
