Team Changes
Throughout the year, Duncan’s Lincoln facility has been significantly increasing its structures repair area. With eight official members on its “Structures Team,” Duncan can perform repairs on virtually all business class aircraft.
At Duncan’s Battle Creek location, changes have recently been made to create a specialized Citation team. This Citation team is now supported by Carl Coonce, Citation technical specialist. Carl and his Citation team members are dedicated to offering the highest quality of Citation support in the industry.
Nose Gear Ice Protection Boot
As the snow and ice season approaches, calls begin to come in from customers asking for the part number of the nose gear ice protection boot installed on Citation 500 series aircraft. For future reference, the part number is CJMD232- 005 and is found in the Tool and Equipment manual, not in the Illustrated Parts manual. Installation instructions are found in chapter 32 of the Maintenance manual.
If you ever need to know more about your Citation, please contact Ed Johnson in Lincoln at 800.228.4277 or Carl Coonce in Battle Creek at 800.525.2376.

Chapter 5 Changes
Citation is in the process of reviewing its inspection program, beginning with 550 models. The review is an effort to reduce the number of inspection items included in certain Phases, particularly 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5.
The first revision was released on Aug. 3, ‘98, and the new inspection program is now in place for 550s. In some cases, Citation has reduced the number of inspection items by over 50%. For example, the 550 Phase 3 inspection now incorporates only three items.
In addition, task numbers, showing the procedure for accomplishing tasks, have been assigned to each item. Procedures for accomplishing tasks are located in the corresponding chapter of the Aircraft Maintenance Manual.
For those who have CD-ROM capability, procedures can be “hyper-linked” from the inspection guides in Chapter 5. If you used Cescards, they can no longer be used. Old item codes will not, in most cases, correspond to the same numbers used for new item codes.
Model 560 aircraft are now in review. Revision is expected at a later date. If you have questions about the Revised Chapter 5 requirements, please contact Ed Johnson in Lincoln at 800.228.4277 or Carl Coonce in Battle Creek at 800.525.2376.
