ProLine 21 Display Blanking/Failing

Rockwell Collins has issued Service Bulletin AFP 3010 identifying a bad transformer in the power supply board on ProLine 21 displays causing intermittent display “blanking.” A dimming circuit transformer (T604) on the A2 backlight drive card assembly may fail prematurely, which may cause the display to flicker or blank at low brightness levels. Additionally, some units may use an older status of the L601 transformer (-020), which may fail prematurely. The expected benefit of this modification is reduced occurrences of display flicker or blanking due to premature transfer failures. This modification may only be installed by Rockwell Collins or an authorized Collins Service Center.

Winslow Life Rafts

If you have Winslow life rafts in your Falcon on a one-year inspection cycle, they can now be inspected, vacuum-packed and remarked for a three-year inspection interval.

WINSLOW LifeRaft Company began offering a life raft vacuum-packing process using an exclusive system they developed called UltimaWrap™ in 2003. Since that time all new aviation life rafts that have been produced have been vacuum packed using the UltimaWrap™ process.

The UltimaWrap™ offers the life raft owner significant benefits. Once vacuum-packed, the life raft is air-tight, which prevents moisture intrusion from condensation or other sources. The vacuum packing also assures the owner that once a pack size is achieved; there will be no swelling later. Of most importance to owners, a full three years is permitted between scheduled life raft services. Life rafts that were not initially vacuum packed can be retrofitted with the UltimaWrap™ at time of service and achieve the same important benefits as the new life rafts. The life rafts will need to be sent to the WINSLOW factory to have this accomplished. It is important to let the WINSLOW service personnel know that UltimaWrap™ is requested when the life raft is sent to the factory. The ELT in the rafts can also be updated to a tri-frequency ELT.

F2000 Hydraulic Pipe Interference

During your next detailed inspection of the nacelles and pylons, pay particular attention to engine #2, pump #1 out, hydraulic pipe, p/n F2MA751505329A1.

After removal of door 444CB, which is the aft-most lower pylon panel, look for broken support clamps holding the pipes as they pass through the pylon and into the rear service bay. If any of these nylon clamps are broken (p/n 78654-04) perform a detailed inspection of all of the hard lines for chaffing, especially as they pass through into the rear bay.
