Team Changes
Throughout the year, Duncan’s Lincoln facility has been significantly increasing its structures repair area. With eight official members on its “Structures Team,” Duncan can perform repairs on virtually all business class aircraft.
At Duncan’s Battle Creek location, changes have recently been made to create a specialized Hawker team. This Hawker team is now supported by Carl Coonce, Hawker technical specialist. Carl and his Hawker team members are dedicated to offering the highest quality of Hawker support in the industry.
Do You Have An MPI Due In 1999?
Duncan Aviation will give away coupons worth $4,000 at the NBAA this year to six operators who have a TFE 731 engine with an MPI coming due between now and the end of 1999. The coupons will be redeemable at either the Lincoln or Battle Creek locations. For MSP or JSSI customers, the coupon can be used for work performed in conjunction with an MPI. (One registration per event is allowed.)
To register for the drawing, stop by Duncan’s booth #7564 during the NBAA or call your Service Marketing Rep, Jon Dodson or Cecil Sloan at 1.800.228.4277. You do not need to be present at the NBAA to win.
Don’t Overlook Your Modification Water Separator
Operators of Hawker 700s and 800s incorporating the Arkansas modification water separator, need to be aware that the separator is not called out in the Raytheon Chapter 5 maintenance schedule. Because this is not a Chapter 5 item, it is often overlooked at the appropriate inspection interval. Inspection requires cleaning of the sock at 600 hours and sock replacement at 1,200 hours. Unless you have the access panel on the upper, aft, right-hand side of the fuselage, access to the separator can be very difficult.

Interior Tips
Changing a door in your interior adds convenience and space. Replacing the swinging lavatory door with a smooth sliding pocket door eliminates the gymnastics of accessing the lavatory.
AVPAC Has Increased Its Hawker Rotables Inventory
AVPAC has greatly expanded its Hawker rotables inventory.

Satellite Communication For Your Hawker?
Within the next 180 days, AlliedSignal expects the release of Airsat 1, an Iridium-based satellite communications system. The package will consist of a single voice channel. A single handset should be able to be installed for less than the price of current ground-based systems. Components need to go inside the pressure vessel; some interior needs to be removed in order to gain access above the headliner for mounting the handset. With the system installed, passengers will have communications access worldwide both on the ground and in the air. The drawbacks to having only one channel are far outweighed by the capacity the system has to offer.
