Update: Pulse Lighting System
— Roy Olsen
The Winter 2005 edition of the Hawker Intelligence reported the possibility, that if S/B 33- 3682 is complied with, the landing lights may not pulse after reactivation.
According to LoPresti’s engineering department, their system uses less amperage to operate and some pulse lighting systems do not see the landing lights working, and therefore will not go into pulse mode. LoPresti has a kit to remedy this, but we know of two aircraft that installed this modification and the landing lights still do not pulse. Raytheon and LoPresti are working on this.
If changing landing light lenses because of heat damage is getting to be routine, a LoPresti system for the landing lights can save considerable time and expense.
Also, according to LoPresti, they are coming out with a kit for the nose taxi light system. Stay tuned for further updates on the pulse lighting system.
Side Stay Overhaul
— Dick Hyde
When sending a side stay for overhaul, include the lower arm nut P/N 25UM105 or 25-8UM147-1 keeping it with the side stay in which it was removed. When the overhauled side stay is returned to service, the lower arm nut will be torqued to 80 in. lbs for split pin hole alignment and will have the side stay serial number inscribed on it.
Make note of which way the nut is on the overhauled side stay prior to removing it for installation to the landing gear. This nut is to be torqued against the lower arm shoulder and not the shims used for alignment of the lower arm with the strut.
Hawker Legacy Aircraft M & O?
— Dick Hyde
The subject of an M & O for Legacy aircraft (1A, 3A, 400 & 700) is being looked at, separate from the 800/800XP/1000 series aircraft by Raytheon. Please let me know if you have any interest in an M & O for your Legacy aircraft and what subjects you would be interested in.
