Securaplane batteries will save you money

Do you wish your Hawker 800A/B or 800XP had Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) Securaplane XL245-C auxiliary batteries installed? Duncan Aviation and Securaplane Technologies Inc. have partnered to develop an STC that will make your wish come true. With minor modification, Duncan Aviation can remove your CA-126 (NiCad) or RG-126 (Lead Acid) #3, #4 and #5 batteries and replace them with the XL245-C SLA batteries.

The advantage of using Securaplane XL245 series batteries is that there is no need to remove them for capacity test, there is no deep cycling requirements, they have no memory characteristics and they have a built-in energy level test which is accomplished simply by the push of a button.

What does this mean for you?

• Less downtime and capacity check requirements
• The only instance XL245 batteries are required to be removed for service is when the energy level test indicates a red (battery low) light.
• Preventative battery cell replacement (Reblocking) is recommended by Securaplane every four years.
• Securaplane warrants the battery cells for three years and the electronic components for five years.

GPS leading you astray?

Duncan Aviation HSI specialists have fielded several calls from customers who consistently received inaccurate HSI course readings after installing a repaired (or new) panel-mounted GPS. These GPS units functioned properly when bench tested and the HSIs functioned properly prior to GPS (re)installation. Troubleshooting pointed to the HSI and unit-swapping reduced the errors. 700 Series Heated Static Port Issue

If you are tasked to do maintenance to the static ports on your 700 (replacement with the heated plates SB 30-3156), RAC has removed the heated Rosemount plates from their shelves because of issues of contour fitting of the plates to the aircraft and mount hole alignment. With the unavailability of non-heated original style plates and the heated plates, it is best to retain the existing plates to maintain aircraft RVSM certification.

Compass Swing Issues?

If your 800 / 800XP has sprouted API winglets and now has a compass swing issue because a magnetic field was induced into your ailerons, consider de-gaussing your ailerons. Duncan Aviation has incorporated this procedure prior to performing compass swing adjustments.

If you do not have the winglets and experience compass swing issues, degaussing in the area of the ailerons may be a worthwhile endeavor at any rate.
