A Quick Look At The Learjet Resale Market
According to Fletcher Aldridge with Vref, the jet market in general is very strong.
The Learjet 35 market could be one of the most spectacular, longterm markets ever. Prices have moved up again in the recent quarter. However, there is also price resistance. This is moving some buyers into alternative airplanes. Lear 55s took a big jump in price in the recent quarter. Some early models gained more than $100,000. A strong Lear 35 market coupled with a good overall jet market is causing this uptrend.
Below are some representative prices.
| Retail | Recent Qtr. | |
| 1980 Lear 35A | $2.16M | Up $35k |
| 1982 Lear 35A | $2.23M | Up $30k |
| 1982 Lear 55 | $3.7M | Up $150k |
| 1984 Lear 55 | $3.9M | Up $150k |

It’s Best To Plan Ahead
If your Lear is due for major work, you’ve undoubtedly heard that most shops are busy this year, scheduling farther ahead than usual. For this reason, you’ll want to plan your projects early and communicate with your shop well in advance.
The Silhouette Headliner
At the request of customers, we have developed a new interior shell kit for Learjet 30-series aircraft, installing the first one this May. The Silhouette replaces the old headliner, providing a smoother, one-piece look that allows easy maintenance access. For more information, call Jeannine Falter or Tracey Boesch at 1800.2284277.
A Look At SB 72-3613
As you know, AlliedSignal released SB 72-3596 early last year to replace the number 1, 3, 4 and 5 carbon seals with the new design segmented carbon seal and ceramic runners. Under this service bulletin, all four seals had to be replaced, requiring a core entry.
AlliedSignal has now released SB 72-3613, which allows us to replace just the number 1 and 3 carbon seals at the next MPI or if you develop a problem in this area between maintenance events. At the time this bulletin is accomplished, there are several other bulletins that must be complied with. These bulletins involve rework of the Fan Support Housing and the Breather Pressurizing Valve. Rework of the Accessory Gearbox and Transfer Gearbox is also required. AlliedSignal has issued special pricing on the new parts needed. Contact Jon Dodson/Cecil Sloan for info at 1.800.228.4277.
Duncan Performs Major Landing Gear Inspections
Duncan Aviation has developed Learjet- and FM-approved repair procedures to return to service parts on the landing gear main strut upper housings and the nose strut upper housing. Keep this in mind when you need your next Major Landing Gear Inspection performed. Duncan’s Accessory Shop can turn your landing gear in six working days. For more information, call Chris Gress at 1.800.228.4277.
DA Named Install Facility for Raisbeck Aft Baggage Locker
We recently signed an agreement with the Raisbeck Engineering group that makes us the third United States facility to be recognized as an authorized service center for the installation and servicing of the new Raisbeck Aft Baggage Locker for Learjet model aircraft.
This modification greatly increases the luggage capacity of the Model 31 and 35/36 Learjet while providing the convenience of external luggage handling. The aft fuselage installation complements the cosmetic appeal of the aircraft and some operators have experienced enhanced performance through reduced aerodynamic drag.
