Learjet Spring 2005
Cabin Windows
—Dave Schiver
Learjet recently revised the 12-year inspection item for the cabin windows. The IRN’s given are for 35/36 as an example, but does apply to all “classic” Learjets.
- Removed item from 12-year to Larascope Cabin Windows.
- Added item to D6-2400 Hr Inspection to Larascope Cabin Windows (IRN M5620009 for 35/36).
- Added item to Inspections Due at Other Intervals to Larascope cabin windows one time only at 600 hours after replacement (IRN 5600009 for 35/36).
Learjet is aware of the fact that it is possible to go 20 years without larascoping the cabin windows. For example, if they were done at the last 12-year completed 12 years ago, and the “D” phase was done last year, they are not due this 12-year due to that item being removed. Yet, they were not done at the last “D” phase due to the fact that it was not a “D” phase item at that time. Keep in mind that a “D” phase calendar requirement is 96 months, or 8 years.
In speaking with Learjet Engineering about this, they recommend completing the larascope at this 12-year and at every “D-6” thereafter.
Brushless Learjet Blowers
—Karl Detweiler
As spring and summer approach, the Learjet cockpit blower motors will once again be used on a regular basis. Electromech’s replacement brushless motor for these blowers has proved to be both reliable and popular. The brushless assembly, PN EM6005-2P, replaces the old Electromech brushtype blower assembly, Electromech PN 608 or Lear PN 6608267-2. The EM6005-2P brushless blower is a direct PMA replacement for the brush type blower.
