Intermittent Problems with your VG-301
—Rob Cline
Duncan Aviation technicians are quite familiar with the intermittent failures on the VG-301. A common culprit is the AM-101 Servo Amp. This has been a quality piece for many years; however, a frequent flaw in these classic amps is the original soldering. Over the years, it just gives up! If you suspect the AM-101 is causing intermittent failures on your VG-301, this may be the problem.

Consider 8.33 kHz Spacing & FM Immunity Upgrades
—Dan Magnus
Duncan Aviation performs many 8.33 and FM immunity upgrades a year. During the upgrade, many customers wisely opt for service bulletins (from most manufacturers) that replace capacitors. These upgrades are inexpensive and can significantly extend the life of the unit by reducing the likelihood of leaking capacitors damaging PC boards.
