Pratt & Whitney Service Bulletin SBA30314 for PW535A Engines

Service Bulletin SBA30314, “Introduction of New Fuel Manifold,” was recently released by Pratt & Whitney. This Service Bulletin covers only the PW535A engines that haven’t previously complied with SB30197 and have serial numbers before and including PCE- DC0143. An increased sense of urgency is conveyed on the first couple pages of the document. The new requirements are:

• If your fuel manifold has less than 1500 flight hours Pratt & Whitney recommends the bulletin be accomplished within 150 flight hours or 90 days whichever comes first.
• If your fuel manifold has 1500 hours or more, Pratt & Whitney recommends the Service Bulletin be accomplished within 50 flight hours or 60 days, whichever comes first.

At this point, parts acquisition appears to be an issue for PW535A engine operators.

Pratt & Whitney Service Bulletin SB30197R4 for PW530A & PW545A Engines

Service Bulletin SB30197R4, “Introduction of New Fuel Manifold,” was recently released by Pratt & Whitney. The previous bulletin, SB30197R3, applied to PW530A, PW535A, and PW545A engines. Revision 4 of this series has deleted the PW535A from this bulletin.

For the PW530A and PW545A engines retained by SB30197R4, compliance is the same as 30197R3. For the engines listed in tables 1 and 2 in the Service Bulletin (also listed in the table here) compliance must be within 150 flight hours. All other engines affected by SB30197R4 can be complied with at next access to the subassembly.

As before, Pratt & Whitney is providing financial support for parts and labor for those operators complying with either Service Bulletin.

We recommend that you call your preferred engine service provider as soon as possible to schedule the work. As noted, acquiring parts can be an issue and time for compliance is short.
