Inspection of Intercompressor-Bleed-Valve Servo Valve on PW535A, PW535B and PW545B Engines
— Ken Kuchenreuther
Service Bulletin 30383 was released on January 29, 2009, calling for inspection and/or replacement of certain servo valves identified by valve serial number (SN). These valves are installed on some of the engines within the following ranges: PW535A engine SN DC0356, PW535B engines SN DE0053 to DE0078, PW545B SN DD0513 to DD0608. Not all engines have the suspect valves. Be sure to check table one of the Service Bulletin for the complete list of valve serial numbers. Pratt & Whitney has recommended the bulletin be accomplished before accumulating 150 flight hours.
Commercial Support Program #1004301 has been issued to provide parts and labor support for affected engines.
Intercompressor Bleed Valve Servo Valve on the PW545B Engine
— Ken Kuchenreuther
Pratt & Whitney recently released Service Bulletin 30368R1 relating to the inspection and /or replacement of the servo valve on 51 select PW545B engines. These engines are installed on the Citation 560XLS aircraft. If you have one of the 51 engine serial numbers listed in table one of the Service Bulletin and “RE46” isn’t imprinted following the valve Part Number, Pratt & Whitney recommends that the valve be replaced with a serviceable valve within 150 flight hours.
If the valve is replaced, make sure you retain the secondary metering plug for installation in the serviceable unit and follow the Maintenance Manual requirements. Pratt & Whitney has also released Commercial Support Program #1003783 for parts and labor support for this Service Bulletin.
PW308A and PW308C Fuel Drain Transfer Tube Packings
— Ken Kuchenreuther
Commercial Support Notification #1003971 was released in November of 2008 to provide parts and labor support for those wanting to comply with Service Bulletin 26264R2. This Service Bulletin indicates packings (o-rings) on the combustor drain system need to be replaced at the next aircraft minor inspection if you are above 1500 hours, and at next access if you have under 1500 hours on the engine. Old packings are not holding up well in the high temperature drain area.
PW305A Engine External Wiring Harness Inspection
— Ken Kuchenreuther
Pratt & Whitney is recommending that the external wiring harness be inspected within the next 300 hours for interference with the oil pump/ EEC on certain engines. The engines are between and include SN CA0545 to CA0582 as indicated in SB 24604R1. Commercial support program #1003980 was also released to provide parts and labor support should the harness need replacement, repair or repositioning. Inspection labor is also provided in the support program.
