PW530A, PW545A & PW545B Engines on the Bravo, Excel and XLS
— Ken Kuchenreuther
Pratt & Whitney has just released Service Bulletin 30381 recommending replacement of the fuel manifold grommets, the fuel shut-off cable grommet and the cover plate fairing on the bottom, aft portion (service fairing) of the engine. The upgrade should be done in the next 12 months or within 300 flight hours to improve sealing should there be a fuel leak above the service fairing. The bulletin applies to PW530A engines before SN DA0699 PW545A engines with SN DB0773 and below and PW545B engines with SN DD0678 and below.
Please note, the picture on page 5 of SB 30381 will soon be revised to correctly illustrate the positioning of the seals. There will be a Commercial Support Program issued to provide financial support for parts and labor. Call Scott Mehlhose for more information at 800.525.2376 ext. 8485.

SB 30374 was recently released by Pratt & Whitney. The Service Bulletin is for the Turbine Exhaust Case (TEC) on PW535A engines not identified with “RE41” next to the part number and with serial numbers lower than DC0335 and PW535B engines not identified with “RE41” next to the part number with serial numbers lower than DE0086. A possibility exists that the outer wall around the leading edge of the nine struts is not as thick as it should be.
If the TEC is removed for any reason, such as a hot section inspection, the thickness should be checked per the bulletin. Commercial Support Program 1004007 was released to provide support for labor and parts if Pratt & Whitney determines that the TEC needs to be replaced.

If you plan to replace your igniters along with one or more of your ignition cables and want the latest part numbers, then check Service Bulletin 30340R2. Pratt &Whitney has recently added parts support to the bulletin. This one-time offer gives you 55-56% off list if you replace both igniters and both cables on at least one engine. The parts must be ordered via a P&WC Parts Distribution Center (PDC). See SB 30342R2 and CSPN 1003145 for details.
PW308A and PW308C Engines on Hawker Horizon and Falcon 2000EX

Pratt & Whitney has recently released Service Bulletin 26270 pertaining to certain Inlet Guide Vane (IGV) linear actuators that control the Variable Inlet Guide Vanes (VIGV) and 1st Stage Variable Stator (one linear actuator per engine). The linear actuators may not be performing up to specifications. Pratt & Whitney recommends that the linear actuator be replaced within 100 flight hours for applicable actuators listed in table one of the SB as follows:
- PW308A engines SN CE0040, 041, 046 through 050;
- PW308C engines SN CF0317, 318, 327, 329, 342, 343, 346, 347, 348, 350 through 355.
Check the table to see if your linear actuator SN is listed also. On 31 PW308A and 136 PW308C engines, Pratt & Whitney recommends doing the bulletin when you have accessed the Linear Actuator. Check the Service Bulletin, table two for engine and actuator serial numbers.
