Duncan Aviation Adds Two Intelli-Conference Symposiums For 2003
August 6, 2003
LINCOLN, NE — Duncan Aviation announced today that it will host two additional Intelli-Conference symposium events during 2003, giving operators five opportunities to attend a Duncan Aviation symposium in 2003. In February, the company announced a spring conference in Teterboro as well as one Sept. 9 in Battle Creek, Mich., and one Oct. 29 in Van Nuys, Calif. Now, the company has added a Nov. 11 date in Atlanta, Ga., and a Nov. 13 event in Dallas, Texas. The symposiums are modeled after many successful conferences that hundreds of Duncan Aviation customers have attended over the last several years.
The one-day format will include the attendee’s choice of three seminar sessions, lunch, a sponsor exposition, a keynote speaker and an evening reception. There is no charge for the event and accompanying meals, although attendees are responsible for their own lodging, if needed. The seminar classes include the following:
- Aging Aircraft Issues. (2 Hours IA Credit) This session includes real world examples of age-related maintenance issues involving corrosion, cracking and brittle wiring and sealant. We share advice on how to help prevent these problems and discuss how to find engineering and parts support for vintage aircraft.
- Cockpit and Cabin Avionics Update. An expert panel will discuss current and future FAA mandates and emerging technologies like voice and data communications, cockpit displays, TAWS and RVSM. Classes will be tailored to the interests of attendees in each area, so registrants will be asked to share their “hot topics.”
- Effective Prepurchase Evaluations. (2 Hours IA Credit) This seminar will offer tips to consider when purchasing an aircraft, like inspection strategies, logbook research, operational checks and FAA issues.
- Planning and Managing Completions Projects. The FAA is requiring more and more documentation of interior components. In this session, a panel of sales, engineering and interior design experts will demystify the regulatory issues that operators face. Discussion of RFQs, material selection, cabinet finishes and the proper planning required to maximize the usability of cabin and galley space will occur. We will also look at strategies to minimize aircraft downtime.
- Human Factors – Maintenance. (4 Hours IA Credit–Presented by FlightSafety) Learn techniques to reduce exposure to human error with effective maintenance resource management. Increase situational awareness and error chain recognition.
- Emergenetics Leadership Workshop. Utilized as a key leadership development tool at Duncan Aviation, this workshop will be presented by Duncan Aviation Vice Presidents trained and certified by the Browning Group as Emergenetics Associates. In it, attendees will have fun learning to appreciate their thinking attributes and understand how their behavioral attributes affect others’ perceptions of them. They will learn to appreciate and even embrace diversity among team members, leading to more creative and productive teams for planning, problem solving and decision-making.
- TFE731 Engine Troubleshooting. (3 Hours IA Credit, Not available in Battle Creek.) Practical TFE731 troubleshooting techniques are covered. The class will be tailored to attendee preferences but potential topics include Computer Trips to Manual N1 DEEC ECTM, Engine Oscillations & Throttle Splits, and Engine Start Problems & Low Performance.
Many of the classes are approved for IA renewal credit. Registration is open now via the website www.DuncanAviation.com/Conference or via phone 800.228.4277 or 402.475.2611, ext. 1288.
