Duncan Aviation's Jeff Miller Earns Interior Structures DER Designation
August 1, 2005
BATTLE CREEK, MICH. — Duncan Aviation is pleased to announce that Jeff Miller recently earned the designation of interior structures DER (Designated Engineering Representative). The DER designation allows Miller to certify aircraft interiors on behalf of the FAA, creating a highly efficient certification path for interior modifications that require FAA approval.
"Jeff has been with Duncan Aviation's Engineering Team since 1996," said Rich Teel, Engineering Manager. "His ten years of experience with corporate aircraft interior structures and dedication to continued education helped him reach his goal of becoming a DER."
Jeff is one of 13 DERs employed by Duncan Aviation. Each of these is highly trained in specialized aircraft service and refurbishment certification areas such as interior systems, electrical equipment, structures or flammability. The DERs on staff give an extra measure of assurance to Duncan Aviation's customers that modifications to their aircraft meet all FAA requirements–a very valuable resource as operators recognize that the FAA continues to increase their focus on aircraft safety.
