Duncan Aviation recently completed a hangar renovation that allows additional paint capacity in Battle Creek, Michigan.

BATTLE CREEK, MICH. — Duncan Aviation recently completed a hangar renovation that allows additional paint capacity and more paint schedule flexibility for its full-service Battle Creek, Michigan, location.

A former aircraft stripping hangar was renovated and now serves as a new, 12,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art paint hangar that will accommodate aircraft sized up to a Bombardier Global Express. The hangar now has a computer-driven sidedraft airflow system that triple-filters the air and will allow aircraft to be stripped, painted, primed and striped in that hangar. It also has new, adjustable and energy-efficient LED lighting.

The renovation was managed by Tectonic Management Group with Duncan Aviation’s Battle Creek Facilities team coordinating between Tectonic, the BTL Paint Department and a plethora of contractors.

“The new hangar is a great addition to our paint services in Battle Creek,” says Doug Bohac, Duncan Aviation Paint Manager. “Customers will see some additional paint capacity and more flexible scheduling.”

As a leader in paint services for business aviation, Duncan Aviation is capable of painting up to 100 aircraft per year at each of its Battle Creek and Lincoln, Nebraska, facilities. Both locations have downdraft paint facilities large enough to paint some of the largest business aircraft in use today, including Gulfstream’s 550, Bombardier’s Global Express and Dassault’s Falcon 7X. The facilities are designed with multiple bays that allow stripping, sanding, painting and detail work on multiple aircraft simultaneously.
