Duncan Aviation and Bombardier Collaborate to Bring 4G Service to In-Service Challenger Aircraft with Gogo AVANCE L5 STC

LINCOLN, NEB — Duncan Aviation is collaborating with Bombardier Business Aircraft to develop Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for the Gogo AVANCE L5 system hardware on in-service Challenger* series aircraft.

The new and faster 4G service will use Gogo AVANCE L5, a lightweight and compact system that, operating on the Gogo Biz 4G ground network of more than 250 towers, provides reliable connectivity over the continental U.S. and parts of Canada and Alaska. Designed specifically for business aircraft, the system offers enhanced connectivity applications, such as audio and video streaming, faster internet, and access to VPN and emails with attachments, for a vastly improved user experience.

“Duncan Aviation is a recognized leader in In-Flight Connectivity Solutions, as there are more than 945 aircraft flying today that have either completed their installation at Duncan Aviation or have used Duncan Aviation’s STC data packages,” says Mike Minchow, Duncan Aviation Vice President of Service Sales. “We understand the value our customers place on staying connected, so we are extremely excited to be collaborating with Bombardier on this program to bring the next generation of in-flight connectivity solutions to the market.”

Duncan Aviation anticipates completion of the Challenger CL-600-2B16 STC before the end of the year. This will encompass the Challenger*604/605/650 aircraft. The STC for the Challenger BD-100-1A11 to include both Challenger 300* and Challenger 350* aircraft and will be completed in the first quarter of 2018. Once the STCs are complete, aircraft will be able to be retrofitted at Duncan Aviation’s full-service and satellite avionics facilities, as well as at Bombardier Service Centres throughout the U.S.
