LINCOLN, NEB — Duncan Aviation recently painted a Gulfstream GV unlike any other. The aircraft, N888XY, is branded SEXYjet and is managed by Metropolitan Aviation.
“The unique and stylish paint scheme applied to this Gulfstream GV will unquestionably make it one of the most eye-catching aircraft in the world,” says George Bajo, a Technical Sales Rep with Duncan Aviation. “It was also one of the most complex paint schemes we have ever completed.”
The owner’s personal designer and Duncan Aviation completions designers worked together to make the original concept applicable to aviation, meeting FAA requirements for things like registration numbers, placarding, and paint reflectance values.
“Of course, a design on paper goes nowhere without an extremely talented team of paint technicians who can bring it to life,” Bajo continues. “In this case, through more than 3,000 hours of hard, physical labor, our paint team created a stunning paint scheme that will make a statement everywhere it goes.”
The paint products used for the two-tone aesthetic of the project were two primary systems: Sherwin Williams satin black base with satin clear coat and Axalta Chromalusion’s “color changing” base coat color called Perfect Jade followed by a gloss clear coat.

“Our client wanted an aircraft that stood out among other aircraft,” Bajo says. “I believe we achieved that goal.
The Gulfstream V was recently added to Metropolitan Aviation’s charter fleet and is now available for international and domestic charter reservations. Metropolitan Aviation is based at Manassas Airport and is the largest private jet management and charter company headquartered in the mid-Atlantic.
"SEXYjet is receiving an enthusiastic response from the charter community already," says Metropolitan Aviation owner and CEO Alan R. Cook. "We anticipate that charter consumers all over the globe will gravitate toward this innovative design and fresh approach to charter when they see this aircraft on the ramp. We are thrilled to be launching this trailblazing travel experience offering the finest service for private long-haul and international flights."
The owner of SEXYjet is U.S. entrepreneur Mark Bonfigli. He and his wife, Marisa, are the driving force behind SEXY Beach Tennis, a growing international sport recognized by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
