Project Communication
On-site Representative
Before you commit to a MRO, make sure you know who to go to for important information about your project. Will you have a contact in each department for status reports and squawks? Who do you talk to about workscope changes or final billing?
Off-site Communication
You can’t always be right by your aircraft during the project. Knowing how a service provider is capable of communicating with you to resolve open issues and get approvals is key to keeping your project moving forward and not bogged down with unnecessary delays due to missed phone calls or different time zones.
Hangar Access
Not all service providers allow their customers access to the hangar floor where your aircraft is serviced. Some facilities also have strict rules against customers mingling with production teams.
Discrepancies & Approvals
A discrepancy is any item requiring action that is not part of the flat-rated inspection or procedure. If a facility has a stated procedure to get these quickly evaluated, approved and resolved, they will be better prepared to take quick action if it becomes necessary.
