Workscope Downtime
Scheduled vs. Non-Scheduled
For any large project, experience is the key to successful planning. Utilizing a knowledgeable MRO with experience you can rely on is crucial in determining an accurate schedule and pricing estimate. A facility that has performed many successful projects on your model of aircraft will have the ability to foresee items that may arise and prepare for them. If major repairs become necessary, you do not want your aircraft stuck in a facility that is unable to accomplish them. Scheduling with a reputable facility ensures the highest degree of reliability and efficiency for your project.
Adding Discretionary work to a Scheduled Inspection
Obviously, anytime your aircraft is down for service, especially major inspections, you’re losing the productivity it provides when your MRO cannot mix discretionary projects such as paint, interior, major avionics upgrades (Glass Box), etc., together, it means added downtime and added loss of productivity. One large multi-tasked workscope added to a needed major inspection will save enormous amounts of time, money and frustration.
Be sure the MRO you select will carefully work together with you when planning your event to maximize your aircraft’s downtime and make sure they have the ability to multi-task these large projects internally.
