LINCOLN, NEB — In 1956, Duncan Aviation founder Donald Duncan bought into a Beechcraft distributorship in Omaha, Nebraska. As a pilot and businessman, Duncan had many relationships with aviators who used their aircraft for business purposes. He saw the natural alignment of fast business and quick travel and he positioned his company to help others successfully meet their goals.
“Sixty years later, we provide every service a business operator needs with 2,200 team members and dozens of locations,” says Todd Duncan, chairman of Duncan Aviation and grandson of Donald Duncan. “And every step in our growth journey can be attributed to customers asking for services, capabilities or amenities. We listened to them and we acted, ultimately providing them with solutions to meet their needs. As we celebrate 60 years in 2016, we do so with gratitude to the customers, team members and partners who have collaborated with us along the way.”
The company couldn’t have grown into its current role in business aviation without significant investment.
“We are dedicated to this industry, our customers and our team members and are in business for the long haul,” says Aaron Hilkemann, President of Duncan Aviation. Over the last 20 years, Duncan Aviation has invested nearly $175 million in facilities/tooling and nearly $48 million in training. “We are dedicated to business aviation, our customers and team members and every decision we make is made with them and the future in mind.”
That’s why the company will celebrate its past next year with an eye to the future. A main component of the company’s year-long anniversary celebration will be asking customers to share their plans for the future, listening to their goals and developing additional products and services that provide solutions to make their jobs in particular and aircraft operation in general easier.
