LINCOLN, NEB. — In March, Duncan Aviation announced that it would be the exclusive AOG service partner for Gogo Business Aviation, supporting Gogo customers around the clock with LRU serviceable units and spare parts strategically placed at Duncan Aviation’s network of facilities and avionics satellite locations within the United States. Since then, of the total number of Gogo equipment needs to improve or restore connectivity year to date, Duncan Aviation has provided approximately15 percent of the spare parts to Gogo’s customer base through the AOG program. Duncan Aviation has also tapped into its inventory to assist non-program operators with parts needed to restore connectivity.
Matt Nelson, Manager of Duncan Aviation’s Avionics Satellite Network, says that most calls received have been from Part 91 operators, who rely on the Gogo systems to keep their passengers connected. “This is relevant because requests are not from operators who require the system to comply with Part 135 maintenance requirements. Instead, the majority of calls have been to help operators keep customers happy and connected.”
“That proves that connectivity in the air has become a true AOG item, and a strong AOG program is a key factor in determining your Wi-Fi provider because it’s all about great product support and customer service,” Nelson says. “People don’t want to fly without it. And, with Duncan Aviation’s numerous locations and strategically positioned parts and spares inventory, we are positioned to provide Gogo with quick connectivity solutions for their customers from high-volume business airports across the United States.”
As part of the agreement, Duncan Aviation invested in Gogo system spares and distributed this inventory across 17 Duncan Aviation locations in the United States. The spares support Gogo’s air-to-ground Internet and voice systems with Wi-Fi, Iridium-based phone systems, and the UCS smart cabin system.
Nelson says the Duncan Aviation teams have also supported Gogo product warranty commitments and other dealers.
