LINCOLN, NEB. — The emotionally charged traveling photo exhibit, Remembering Our Fallen, which honors the more than 80 Nebraskans killed since Sept. 11, 2001, spent a week in Duncan Aviation's Lincoln, Nebraska, facility.
"Nearly 25 percent of our team members are veterans, and when we were approached about hosting this exhibit, we graciously accepted, realizing the personal tie to many here at Duncan Aviation," says Human Resources Manager Leon Holloway.
Duncan Aviation hosted the exhibit from January 19 through the 23, for all team members and their family members to view in a quiet space at the facility's newest maintenance hangar.
The exhibit includes military and personal photos, as well as war zone.
The traveling memorial has moved nearly every week across Nebraska for more than four years.
Several sponsors, including Bill and Evonne Williams of Omaha and Bellevue University, created the exhibit to honor local military members, educate the public and ensure none of these soldiers were forgotten.
Since the unveiling of Nebraska's Remembering Our Fallen exhibit in November 2010, 14 other states have joined and created their own traveling memorial. To learn more, visit www.RememberingOurFallen.org.
