LINCOLN, NEB. — Duncan Aviation is pleased to announce the appointment of Shawn Schmitz to the position of Turbine Engine Tech Rep for the Honeywell and Rolls Royce lines of aircraft engines.
Schmitz joined Duncan Aviation in 2001 after serving six years in the United States Marine Corps, stationed in Yuma, Ariz., with two deployments to Japan. He most recently served as the team leader for the Duncan Aviation Engine Line shop, demonstrating a high degree of technical expertise and dedication to customer service.
Schmitz says he is focused squarely on meeting customer needs while serving in this position. “I have several years of experience working on Honeywell TFE731 engines and will continue to support our customers with technical assistance as they bring their engines to Duncan Aviation’s Honeywell TFE731 Service Center.” However, he is also looking to the future to be prepared to meet customer demands and technical needs for years to come. “Business aircraft are getting bigger and heavier, and are flying with larger, robust engines. This time next year, the current 175,000-square-foot facility expansion project at Duncan Aviation in Lincoln, Neb., will be complete and we will begin to see more and more of these large-body aircraft arrive in our hangars for maintenance, bringing their engines with them. Over the next several months, I plan on making my personal growth a priority and will be factory-trained with experience to serve our customers’ technical engine needs when they arrive.”
James Prater, Duncan Aviation’s Manager of Turbine Engine Services in Lincoln, says, “Shawn is vastly experienced on the line service and troubleshooting aspects of the engines powering the majority of corporate jets in Duncan Aviation's target market. Our nationwide network of engine technicians and our customers have already come to trust his technical opinions and as a Team Leader they would often seek his input on any engine questions. It seems fitting to carry that momentum forward by asking Shawn to focus his time and attention on supporting customers and engine technicians not just in the hangars but around the world.”
