Universal Avionics UNS Trade In & Upgrade

With the availability of database subscriptions coming to an end in the next few months, the Duncan Aviation Avionics Satellite Network is taking advantage of the Universal Avionics UNS-1M trade in program. Several UNS-1EW ship sets have already been purchased and installed this year. We have the capability to perform this upgrade on older model GIV, Learjet and King Air, among many others. When a team of two Duncan Aviation technicians work together, downtime will be as short as two days.

UNS-1EW upgrade process and equipment replacement

• If the previous installation was not originally installed by Duncan Aviation, its integrity will need to be verified.  
• The GPS antenna requires replacement.
• A Data Transfer Unit needs to be installed and the Configuration Module changed. 
• An Ethernet cable will be run from the FMS to the Data Transfer Unit, requiring some cockpit disassembly. 
• Small wiring changes at the FMS may also be required.
• And of course to make it all legal and work properly, the configuration, engineering and certification data.
