The use of Safe-T-Cables in place of lock wire has been an accepted practice for quite some time and is especially useful in repeated applications or in tight areas. In the picture above Duncan Aviation technicians were tasked to bleed the slat actuators. They found the crimped cable lugs for the bleed screws wedged in the safety holes. This resulted in the actuators being removed from the aircraft, increasing man-hours and the likelihood of component damage.
