Duncan Aviation Challenger Techs recommend two new areas of corrosion inspection to include in the pre-purchase evaluation or next heavy maintenance check for CL600 series operators.
Corrosion can be found by looking internally in the lower cabin door. With main door open, remove the insulation and investigate the hinge area and the corners of the door.
It has been noted if the emergency exit leaks, moisture will leak by the door sill and work its way to the floor seal causing corrosion.
