LINCOLN, NEB — Duncan Aviation is pleased to announce that it has partnered with Gogo Business Aviation to provide new installation options for the Gogo AVANCE L3 and the Gogo AVANCE Smart Cabin System (SCS). The Engineering & Certification Services teams at Duncan Aviation are currently amending three existing Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for the Gogo AVANCE L5 Wi-Fi system. Once completed, customers will be able to install the Gogo AVANCE L3 Wi-Fi system or a standalone SCS in more than a dozen aircraft models, which currently include the following:

  • Gulfstream GIV and GIV-X
  • Bombardier Challenger 604, 605, and 650
  • Bombardier Challenger 300 and 350

The AVANCE L3 provides connectivity and functionality for all of your in-flight business and personal needs. The built-in cybersecurity lets you connect safely and securely to your company’s Virtual Private Network (VPN) to meet deadlines, send and receive important email, and access information on the Web. Stay connected via your mobile phone as you send and receive voice and video calls and text messages, and when you’re ready to relax you can enjoy on-demand movies, news, TV programming, and magazines with no connection needed using Gogo Vision, which is built into the L3 system. The AVANCE L3 also keeps pilots informed with real-time information on many popular pilot applications.

The SCS provides the router and Wi-Fi output functionality, an integrated CMS (cabin management system), and inflight entertainment with Gogo Vision. With just this unit, passengers can access and use all available data, make voice calls, view in-flight maps and destination weather reports, and use less demanding times to relax with a library of movies and TV shows, magazines, and news clips when Gogo Vision is enabled.

“As one of the leading MROs in the world, and a long-standing valued partner with Gogo, Duncan Aviation continues to lead in the industry with ongoing certification investments in Gogo systems,” said David Salvador, Vice President of Aftermarket Sales for Gogo Business Aviation. “The additional STCs Duncan Aviation is developing for Gogo AVANCE L3 and SCS will greatly benefit our mutual business aviation customers.”

The amended STCs for the Gogo AVANCE L3 Wi-Fi system will include the installation of the Single Air Card Line Replacement Unit (LRU) and mounting tray and will cover all other existing architecture for the AVANCE L3, including the Wi-Fi and terrestrial modem (cellular) antennas. The amended STCs will also cover design changes for the installation of the Gogo AVANCE SCS.

Duncan Aviation has received validation for the STCs from the FAA and Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) and has sought European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) validation, as well.

“We are pleased to offer the L3 and SCS cost-effective options for customers who want the reliability and functionality of Gogo’s AVANCE system but don’t yet need the speed of the L5 Wi-Fi system,” says Duncan Aviation’s Manager of Engineering & Certification Business Development Shawn Carraher.
