Duncan Aviation Transforms Falcon 900EX with Bespoke, Yacht-Inspired Interior

Duncan Aviation recently refurbished this Falcon 900EX. LINCOLN, NEB. — A Falcon 900EX owner recently entrusted Duncan Aviation’s Battle Creek, Michigan, team with a full interior refurbishment and exterior repaint, resulting in an aircraft that feels lighter, more modern, and tailored for today’s missions with design cues drawn from contemporary, luxury yachts.

The project was driven by the owner’s desire to replace a dated, worn interior with a cleaner, more sophisticated environment and to complement it with an elegant, simplified exterior paint scheme that would remain timeless.

“The new interior is loosely inspired by the yacht industry,” says Lead Designer Jack Bauder. “Cool greys and off-whites create an open and airy feeling in the cabin, while a soft blonde-tone veneer provides warmth and balance. Navy blue accents in the carpet and lower sidewalls add subtle contrast and tie in beautifully with the exterior paint.”

Light, Airy Cabin with Yacht-Inspired Details

The Falcon 900EX interior received a full refurbishment designed to enhance both comfort and longevity. Cabinetry was re-veneered with a straight-grain composite veneer in a blonde/honey tone and a high-gloss finish. The result is a warm, luminous wood look that feels both contemporary and timeless while standing up well to years of use.

The mid-cabin settee was reupholstered in a more tailored, modern style, sharpening the overall geometry of the seating and contributing to a clean, uncluttered cabin experience.

Seats Inspired by Falcon 7X Design

Cabin seating was updated with inspiration from the well-known Falcon 7X design, featuring a distinctive single stripe running the length of the seat back and cushion. This subtle detail adds a sense of motion and automotive-influence while preserving the comfort expected on long-range flights.

Refined stitching, modern tailoring, and the signature stripe detail combine to create seating that feels both performance-driven and inviting, balancing visual interest with passenger comfort.

Functional Galley Enhancements and Durable Flooring

In the forward cabin, Duncan Aviation’s Interior team made targeted modifications to enhance functionality without disrupting the overall layout. The forward galley annex was modified to accommodate a new microwave and to provide more flexible storage, enhancing convenience for both crew and passengers on longer missions.

To balance durability with style, grey/blue woven-vinyl flooring was installed in the entryway and aft lavatory.

“We selected woven-vinyl for its softer, textile-like appearance and its ability to coordinate seamlessly with the cabin carpet,” says Bauder. “At the same time, it offers excellent wear resistance and is very easy to maintain, which is critical in high-traffic zones like the entry and lav.”

Subtle Updates

While the existing latches and pulls were retained, the incoming gold plating was re-plated in Satin Chrome, modernizing the metal finishes without requiring a full hardware replacement. This subtle update refreshes the metal finishes, aligns them with the new interior palette, and delivers a contemporary look with minimal disruption.

Fresh Exterior with Elegant, Dynamic Lines

In addition to the interior refurbishment, the exterior of the aircraft was completely repainted. The new scheme features a Matterhorn White base accented by navy blue stripes that echo the cabin’s color palette.

The stripes flare outward and upward as they move toward the aft fuselage and vertical stabilizer, evoking a sense of speed and elegance while visually linking the exterior to the interior design.
