LINCOLN, NEB. — Duncan Aviation is pleased to announce that James Carroll and Kirsten Ehrenfried have joined the company’s respected Aircraft Sales & Acquisitions team. Carroll, based in London and fluent in English, Spanish, and French, will enhance Duncan Aviation’s presence in the EMEA region, working alongside Tim Barber, Aircraft Sales & Acquisitions, and Glyn Tookey, Regional Manager for EMEA & India. Ehrenfried brings valuable experience in Sales and Marketing to her new role as a Market Research Analyst, where she will support the team with detailed market analysis to help clients make informed buying and selling decisions.
Carroll has built an accomplished career in aviation, spanning more than two decades and multiple facets of the industry. Since graduating from university in 2001, he has held leadership roles at airports, within maintenance program providers, and with global aviation service organizations—always driven by his passion for the industry.
Carroll began his career at Gatwick Airport in 2001 before moving to Heathrow Airport in 2002, where he worked for the British Airports Authority (BAA) using his degree in modern languages making terminal announcements. By 2004, he was promoted to Customer Service Duty Manager at Terminal 4, then the primary hub for British Airways’ long-haul operations. He was responsible for the smooth operation of the terminal and daily operations from a passenger perspective.
After a brief period outside of aviation with lastminute.com/Travelocity, Carroll returned to the industry in 2010, joining Jet Support Services, Inc. (JSSI). Starting as an Account Manager in Farnborough, he was responsible for all European accounts, later advancing to Director of Business Development for Western Europe. In this role, which he held for more than a decade, he became a trusted advisor to operators, owners, and financiers across the region.
In 2024, Carroll joined Gama Aviation as Head of MRO Sales, where he implemented strategies to expand base maintenance operations, developed vendor agreements, and helped the company secure key authorizations. These included becoming an authorized dealer for Starlink, an authorized Embraer Service Centre, and opening new opportunities for rotary aircraft sales and special missions support.
Carroll brought his expertise to Duncan Aviation in 2025, where he now serves on the Aircraft Sales & Acquisitions team. His background in maintenance programs, aircraft values, and transactions gives him a deep understanding of the complexities of buying and selling aircraft, while his global network in legal, finance, operations, and maintenance provides clients with comprehensive guidance.
“I have been approached several times with regards to being involved in aircraft sales but until now it has never felt like the right time,” said Carroll. “Duncan Aviation is an internationally recognized, massively trusted and respected brand that aligns with my principles and ethos. There is no other company I would rather represent in this role, so it became a very simple and easy decision to join and one that I could just not pass up!”
Carroll has been interested and involved in aviation his whole life, and is excited to take on this new role.
“I've seen and been involved in aircraft transactions from multiple angles – whether through the transfer of maintenance programs at JSSI or through performing pre-buys for brokers, buyers, and sellers” he said. “I have a good network of industry contacts within legal, finance, company structuring, aircraft operations, and maintenance. These are all important considerations when it comes to buying or selling an aircraft.”
Throughout his career, Carroll has been recognized for several notable achievements. At Heathrow, he became the youngest person to be promoted to Duty Manager. While at JSSI, he was the first team member outside the United States to earn the Accredited Senior Appraiser designation from the American Society of Appraisers. He is frequently invited to speak at international conferences as a subject matter expert on maintenance programs and aircraft values, and he was elected to the Board of the British Business and General Aviation Association in 2023.
Carroll met his wife while working at JSSI in Chicago. The couple live in the UK with their young son, who keeps them happily busy. Outside of work, he enjoys driving and maintaining his vintage Porsche, traveling, cooking, walking, and playing tennis when time allows. Aviation remains both his profession and his passion, with a career dedicated to helping clients make confident, well-informed aircraft ownership decisions.

As Market Research Analyst for Duncan Aviation’s Aircraft Sales & Acquisitions team, Ehrenfried supports the team with detailed market data and analysis to help clients make informed buying and selling decisions. She brings a strong background in marketing, organization, and client relations to the team.
She graduated from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a minor in Psychology. Before joining Duncan Aviation, she served as Sales & Marketing Manager for two Hotworx locations in Lincoln, Nebraska, and as Executive Assistant at Fritz + Lloyd Interiors.
Ehrenfried’s experience in Sales and Marketing has strengthened her ability to connect with clients, understand their needs, and create strategies that deliver results. Her attention to detail and structured approach help her manage multiple projects efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on teamwork and relationship-building.
