LINCOLN, NEB. — Duncan Aviation’s business aircraft full-service MRO (Maintenance Repair Overhaul) facility in Provo, Utah, will be holding an open house on Saturday, August 16, from 10am-2pm at its location near the Provo Airport: 262 South 3800 West, Provo, Utah, 85601.
Open to all, the company would especially like to meet and visit with anyone in the area who is curious about the unique and interesting career opportunities that are available at the family-owned Duncan Aviation. Candidates will even be able to submit their application at the event.
Attendees will be able to meet third- and fourth-generation Duncan family members, Todd and Connie Duncan and their son Harrison, as they welcome members of the community to a day of fun, food, and festivities.
“My dad, Chairman Emeritus Robert Duncan, is fond of saying, ‘If we take care of our team members, our team members will take care of our customers,” says Chairman of the Board of Directors Todd Duncan. “That philosophy has served Duncan Aviation for nearly 70 years. Going forward, we feel our unique position as leaders in the business aviation industry, the opportunities and benefits we offer our team members, and our growth-oriented mindset provide exciting career opportunities for anyone looking to join this exciting industry.”
Tours of the 280,000-square-foot facility will include hands-on demonstrations allowing visitors the opportunity to try their hand at riveting and wiring. Additionally, aircraft interior experts will speak about the variety of work that goes into making the inside of the aircraft beautiful. Tours will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Utah-based Gail S. Halvorsen Foundation (aka the Candy Bomber) will have its Mobile STEM Learning Center on site, and there will be an inflatable bounce house for younger children, photo opportunities with two professionally designed and Duncan Aviation-painted aircraft, fun activities, and door prizes (must be present to win).
Local radio station MIX 105.1 will provide the sound track for the day as they broadcast live from Duncan Aviation. And what’s a party without free popcorn?
Attendees can enjoy the fare from several area food trucks, and can beat the heat in the tent-shaded area with tables and chairs. Ice water will also be provided.
”One of the hallmarks of this family-owned business is that Duncan Aviation is somewhere where you have a name, you are valued, and your contributions to the teams are recognized and encouraged,” says VP of Mods and Completions Phil Suglia. “In 2000, I knew nothing about airplanes and just wanted a job to get through college. Duncan Aviation took a chance on me and hired me as a Line Services Rep. At that time, I worked on the FBO Team in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and I could never have predicted where I’d be today! If you’re looking for a career where your efforts will make a difference and opportunity abounds, come and see us on August 16.”
Duncan Aviation originally opened in Provo in 2010 and built a new, multi-hangar facility from the ground-up that was completed in 2020. Duncan Aviation employs more than 400 team members in Provo and continues to grow. The company provides tip-to-tail maintenance, modification and refurbishment services on the most popular business aircraft flying today.
