Precision Through Calibration

68.1 Fact-Spring 2026_Cal Lab 2021 (2).jpg

Long before digital diagnostics and automated test equipment became industry standards, Duncan Aviation recognized that true quality begins with accurate measurement. That philosophy lives on today through our Calibration Laboratories in Lincoln and Battle Creek, which provide NIST-traceable calibration services for both aviation and non-aviation customers. The Lincoln lab is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 through A2LA, meeting one of the most respected international standards for calibration accuracy and technical competence.

For our customers, this means reliable measurements, reduced downtime, and confidence that every adjustment is backed by decades of experience and standards-based precision—because aviation excellence has always been built on getting the smallest details right.

Building Provo from the Ground Up

69.1 Fact-Spring 2026_DJI_0049 Edit.jpg

In 2010, Duncan Aviation committed to building a ground-up facility in Provo, Utah, launching operations in a temporary hangar, allowing us to develop a firm customer base while plans for a permanent site took shape. Coming out of the Great Recession, the decision to grow cautiously reflected a long-term approach—ensuring expansion matched customer needs and could be sustained over time.

That patience paid off. The newly built Provo facility opened in phases nearly a decade later, beginning with the first maintenance hangar in January 2019, followed by a paint hangar in May, and a second maintenance hangar in early 2020.

Today, Duncan Aviation-Provo provides customers with a full-service option in the Western United States, offering nose-to-tail capabilities. Our 420 team members in Provo combines the same standards and culture customers expect—with the convenience of a western location.

A Logo That Represents Excellence

70.1 Fact-Spring 2026_Logo History.png

The Duncan Aviation logo—featuring a bold black block with a stylized white jet—is recognized throughout the world of business aviation. Originally designed in 1989 by renowned San Francisco designer Mitchell Mauk, a personal friend of Robert Duncan, the logo was created to reflect the spirit of the company and the strength and stability behind the Duncan Aviation brand.

In 2011, Mauk refreshed the design with subtle, purposeful updates, including a more modern font and stronger, more defined aircraft lines, along with a commitment to reproduce the mark exclusively in black and white to preserve its clarity and consistency.

For more than three decades, the airplane block logo has been embraced by team members, customers, and industry partners alike—serving as a recognizable symbol of reliability, craftsmanship, and the high standards behind every aircraft entrusted to Duncan Aviation.

In 1966, NBAA was the first industry association Duncan Aviation joined. The first NBAA booth was a purple foam structure in a 20x20 space (not pictured), where 10 team members greeted attendees and explained who Duncan Aviation was. That was just the beginning.
