Visitors to Duncan Aviation’s main facilities often notice something unexpected—fine art integrated throughout the common spaces. Each MRO displays hundreds of pieces from Robert and Karen Duncan’s personal art collection, thoughtfully placed throughout lobbies, hallways, conference rooms, and other common areas.
The Duncans are passionate about the power of art to enrich life and they want others to have the same experience. “We enjoy sharing our art,” Robert says. “We feel that’s part of our responsibility, to share it with others. It may inspire a kid to become a musician, an artist, a designer, or even a business leader who appreciates the importance of creativity.”

A shared passion for aviation has long been a defining part of Duncan Aviation’s culture. Employee gatherings were held regularly, and from the late 1970s through the early 1990s, these events expanded to include company-hosted air shows that reflected both professional pride and personal enthusiasm for aviation. Team members participated by performing aerobatic routines and sharing their aviation-related hobbies.
Once each summer, aircraft in service were removed from the main hangar and the space was converted to accommodate tables, seating, food, and refreshments. An organized, hour-long air show was presented for employees, family members, friends, and customers, followed by time together in the hangar, reinforcing a culture that welcomed families and customers into our community. As we grew, hosting air shows was no longer feasible, but the passion for aviation and emphasis on family that defined these events has continued to shape Duncan Aviation.
