50 Years of Honeywell Engine Expertise

50.1 Fact-Spring 2026_1974 Duncan engine rebuilding.jpg

2026 marks 50 years of Duncan Aviation’s first Service Agreement for the Honeywell TFE731 engine and the 11th anniversary of our HTF Series authorization.

This highlights our long-standing role as a trusted provider of authorized Honeywell engine support, benefiting operators through consistent maintenance practices, trained technicians, and dependable service over decades of operation. In 1999, we opened a dedicated 30,000 square-foot turbine engine facility in Lincoln and in 2018, we expanded it to include a Honeywell-certified engine test cell. Our Honeywell authorizations include TFE731 Heavy Service with CZI and Overhaul capabilities, HTF7000 Minor Service and Heavy Service on the RE100 APU.

P&W Engine DOF Support

50.2 Fact-Spring 2026_PW308_Jan 14-2026_session2 (41).jpg

After 30 years of strong collaboration with Pratt & Whitney Canada, Duncan Aviation was appointed a DOF (Designated Overhaul Facility) for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of PW300 and PW500 turbofan engines in 2023. The new DOF facility, which features a second 20,000-lb. thrust-class turbofan engine test cell, 12 engine maintenance bays, dedicated storage racks, a new parts inventory warehouse, and expanded backshops, will become fully operational in 2026. The expansion of our turbine engine overhaul services underscores our commitment to Pratt & Whitney, their engines, and our mutual customers. We are ready to deliver a product that meets P&WC’s high-quality standards as a DOF.

Duncan Aviation’s Engineering Department has developed more than 530 STCs (Supplemental Type Certificates). One of our early STCs—a long-range Omega navigation system for Learjets—was signed off in October 1977 and approved by the FAA on May 22, 1978.

Today, Duncan Aviation offers certification expertise and approved STCs for interior alterations and avionics upgrades—including connectivity, ADS-B, FANS, flight deck displays, and synthetic vision systems—providing customers with proven, FAA-approved solutions that simplify upgrades and reduce certification complexity.
