Taking Care of Our People

55.1 Fact-Spring 2026_Duncan_Aviation_PVU_Gym_007.jpg

Duncan Aviation has long believed that investing in team members directly impacts the experience of our customers—a philosophy championed by Robert Duncan, who believed that when a company takes care of its people, they in turn take care of customers.

That belief shows up in a comprehensive benefits and wellness culture designed to support long-term careers. Team members have access to on-site fitness rooms at all main facilities, on-site medical clinics that provide convenient physical and mental health services for employees and their families, pilot license reimbursement, 401(k) programs with investment matches, flexible Team Member Choice Program benefits that allow individuals to tailor coverage to their needs, and access to continued training. These benefits support physical health, financial stability, professional growth, and work-life balance.

From Humble Beginnings to Global Reach

56.3 Fact-Spring 2026.jpg

In 1956, car salesman and aviation enthusiast Donald Duncan invested in a Beechcraft aircraft sales organization, convinced that aviation could become a powerful tool for regional businesses. That decision quietly set the foundation for what would become Duncan Aviation. Alongside Harry Barr, a young pilot Donald met two years earlier, and Darlene Christensen, the car dealership’s administrative assistant, the company began to grow—driven by practical problem-solving and a focus on customer needs.

By 1979, that growth translated into capability: 95,000 square feet of service, shop, and hangar space, fuel storage capacity approaching 250,000 gallons, and 65 private aircraft storage hangars. Plans were already underway to expand even further, including a completion and modification center and an additional 50,000 square feet to support increasingly complex aircraft.

Today, we have more than 3,000 team members who support business aviation customers around the world. Three full-service MRO facilities are complemented by 28 Satellite locations, along with engine and airframe Rapid Response teams ready to assist with AOG events and scheduled maintenance—whether at our facilities, in-the-field where a customer’s aircraft is sitting, or at a customer’s hangar.

Our global reach was built on local roots, and our customers have the assurance that our experienced teams and resources are always within reach when they need support.

Aircraft as Flying Showpieces

Duncan Aviation has long used its own aircraft to do more than travel—these flying billboards showcase what’s possible. Rather than traditional paint schemes, our fleet has featured bold, custom designs that reflect both creativity and craftsmanship, from a baby-blue Citation XLS adorned with roses and ravens, to a PC-12 inspired by the beautiful colors in a northern pike, to a Bonanza boasting illustrative icons of the services we provide. Over the years, that creativity has also included a lime-green Citation M2 with primary-color paint splatter, an orange-plaid Citation Mustang, and a red-and-black Learjet 35A known as the “Spider-Man Lear.”

Recognized around the world, these aircraft serve as flying examples of the work performed every day in our paint and completions facilities. They illustrate confidence in a team trusted to push boundaries, execute complex designs, and deliver consistent quality—on our own aircraft and on every aircraft entrusted to us.
