Learjet 60 Starter Generator Brush Inspection

The Safran Power UK & Safran Power USA starter generator specifically designed for the Learjet 60 requires a 500 hour brush inspection to determine whether the generator brushes meet the warranty standard of 50 percent life. With the required brush measurement tool, this inspection can be performed by the operator while the starter generator is still installed on the aircraft, saving several hours of labor.

If the 500 hour brush inspection shows the brushes to be less than half life, Duncan Aviation will replace and install a new set at no cost. If after the first 20 inspections the brushes still retain more than 50 percent of their life, the 500 hour inspection requirement will be discontinued on the unit.
